Police Seeking Upper East Side Subway Groper

A man grabbed a woman's buttocks at an Upper East Side Q train station on the evening before Thanksgiving, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man groped a woman inside an Upper East Side subway station on the night before Thanksgiving, police said.

As a 49-year-old woman rode an escalator inside the 96th Street Q train at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a man came up behind her and touched her buttocks, police said.

The groper then fled to a downtown Q train, officials said, where he rode off into the night.

Police said there were no injuries reported and that the man is still at large.

In addition to a released image of a person believed to be connected to the grope, police said the person appeared to be about five foot seven inches, weighing around 170 pounds and approximately 35-years-old.
