Queensboro Bridge Closed As Person Threatens To Jump: Officials
The bridge was closed for almost two hours as emergency responders successfully worked to save a person's life.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A person threatening to jump from the Queensboro Bridge forced the historic thoroughfare to shut down for nearly two hours early Thursday afternoon, officials said.
At around 12:30 p.m., first responders were initially alerted to a person on the bridge who was threatening to jump from it, according to the FDNY.
While first responders came to the person's rescue, the bridge was shut to all Queens-bound traffic on the lower level of the bridge, according to police officials.

At about 2 p.m., the person was rescued and brought to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, fire officials said.
