Sicko Gropes Woman, Steals Wallet On Upper East Side Street: NYPD

Police say the sexual assault happened early on a Sunday morning on Second Avenue.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man sexually attacked a woman walking on a quiet Upper East Side street on an early Sunday morning, police said.

The 27-year-old victim was walking down Second Avenue near East 75th Street on July 9 at about 5:30 a.m. when the attack happened, according to officials.

As she walked, a stranger grabbed her from behind in between her legs, police said. Shocked, the woman fell onto the sidewalk, knocking her wallet out of her bag and bruising her body, officials reported.

The man, described as about five foot eight inches tall, about 30-years-old and 175 pounds, grabbed the victim's wallet and fled, police said.

The Special Victims Squad released an image of a person they are seeking to identify.
