MIDTOWN, NY — A man smashed a glass display and robbed a store of $500 in Midtown, police say.

At about 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, a man donning a green soccer Jersey walked into a Ninth Avenue store near West 39th Street and started an argument with a pair of workers there, police said.

Suddenly the supposed soccer fan smashed a glass display and threw the resultant sharp shards at the two workers, according to officials.
