Teen Arrested For Upper East Side Stabbing, Police Say

The 16-year-old from the Bronx is accused of stabbing a man as the victim was on his way to work.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A Bronx teenager is facing charges for stabbing a man on the Upper East Side as the victim was headed to work, police said.

The 16-year-old was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree robbery, police said. He is accused of attacking a man on East 75th Street near Lexington Avenue on the morning of June 18, police said.

The teen and another accomplice approached the victim from behind and struck him multiple times, causing the man to fall to the ground, police said. After the man was knocked to the ground, a struggle ensued between the attackers and the victim, police said. The victim was stabbed during the struggle and the two muggers fled the scene by running up Lexington Avenue, police said.

EMS rushed the victim to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.

The second suspect has not been arrested, police said. Both attackers were described as men in their late teens or early 20s with a light complexion.
