UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A two-wheeled terror was mostly striking out at stealing Upper East Siders headphones off of their heads in Yorkville in a two-and-a-half-hour long blitz in early July, police said.

The two attempted robberies, and the one successful one, all took place between around 5:30 p.m and 8:10 p.m. on July 3, police said, and all within a four-block radius.

First, the man, who is seen in a video illegally riding a large black and red moped the sidewalk, punched a man in the face at East 79th Street between York and First avenues and tried to rip off his headphones, but failed, police said.

The crazed moped man then scooted over to East 80th and Third Avenue, hitting a 24-year-old woman in the head with his fist and also attempting to steal her headphones — and also failing, according to officials.

Finally, just 30 minutes later, the failed thief finally was able to steal a pair of headphones from a 25-year-old woman on East 82nd Street between York and First avenues, according to police. Officials did not say if he also tried to punch the victim.
