Upper East Side Seawall Collapses Near Gracie Mansion Into East River
The immediate area has been roped off.

UPPER EAST SIDE, MANHATTAN — A retaining wall at a riverside walkway on the Upper East Side collapsed, sending chunks of concrete plunging into the East River, video from local news outlets show.
The collapse happened near East 88th Street and East End Avenue, steps away from Gracie Mansion, the residence of Mayor Bill de Blasio.
It is believed to have happened some time over the weekend, after flash flooding pounded the city for hours. No injuries were reported in connection with the collapse, and the immediate area appears to have been roped off.
