Upper East Side 'Wonder' Restaurant Grand Opening Next Week

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — It seems like one restaurant, but it's actually 22.

That's the concept behind Wonder, an all-in-one cornucopia offering diners the opportunity to order food from some of the hottest restaurants from around the city and country.

"A new kind of home dining experience," reads a description of Wonder on its Instagram. "Enjoy menus from top chefs and iconic restaurants across the country, all in one place."

With a grand opening on Feb. 8, Upper East Siders looking for a plethora of choices in "fast fine" dining will soon have enough options to satisfy the pickiest and most refined palates in their household.

Some of the listed offerings include menus from top chefs like Bobby Flay, Jose Andres, Nancy Silverton, Silvana Salcido Esparza and Rose Previte, plus local hits like Brooklyn's Di Fara Pizza and chef Al Lanza.

Wonder is owned by Wonder Group, a consortium founded in 2018 by entrepreneur and former Walmart E-commerce head Marc Lore.

The Wonder Group recently received $100 million in backing from Nestle, CNBC reported in November, part of a move by the startup to enter the high-end kitchen appliance market.

Just two months earlier, Wonder Group acquired meal kit delivery service Blue Apron for $103 million.

Prior to Wonder Group — and Walmart — Lore had founded the e-commerce startup Jet.com, which he sold to Walmart for $3.3 billion in 2016.

Wonder soft-opened their Upper East Side location in December and opened Upper West Side and Chelsea locations last year.
