1 Person Critical After Fire At Upper West Side High Rise: FDNY

Nearly 80 firefighters responded to a blaze Wednesday night at 382 Central Park West, near 97th Street, FDNY said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person is in critical condition after a fire tore through a high rise building Wednesday night on Central Park West, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

The fire ignited on the 10th floor of the 19-story building at 382 Central Park West, near West 97th Street, about 9:20 p.m., FDNY said.

A total of 78 firefighters corralled the flames by 10:10 p.m., but one resident was left in critical condition and taken to St. Luke's Hospital, FDNY said.

There has been no update on the injured Upper West Sider's condition.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
