2 Firefighters Injured In UWS Residential Building Blaze: FDNY
A fire broke out Thursday morning on the first floor of a five-story building on the Upper West Side, FDNY said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Two firefighters were injured after a blaze broke out Thursday morning in a residential building on the Upper West Side, FDNY told Patch.
The fire ignited within 114 W. 109th St. (between Amsterdam and Columbus) around 7:23 a.m., FDNY said.

A total of 60 firefighters responded to the flames that were contained to the first floor of the five-story building.

The FDNY had the blaze under control by 8:11 a.m., but two firefighters were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries, the spokesperson said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
