Axeman In Grinning Halloween Mask Attacks Passerby On UWS: NYPD
The attack happened near Columbus Circle.

UPPER WEST SIDE – An axeman wearing a grinning Halloween mask threatened to kill a passerby near Columbus Circle before swinging the weapon into the victim's arm, police said.
The suspect then fled into the 59 Street/Columbus Circle subway station.
The attack happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday at Broadway between West 60th and 61st streets. It's not thought that the attacker and his victim, a 51-year-old man, knew each other.

A surveillance photo shows the man wearing the Halloween mask, while another shows him in a blue surgical mask.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
