Columbus Circle Track Fire Causes Problems For West Side Subways
The small fire started around 9:15 a.m.
UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN — A track fire Wednesday morning at 59th Street-Columbus Circle caused problems on several of the trains that crisscross through the busy subway station.
The small fire broke out around 9:15 a.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch, and crews were still assessing the situation around 10 a.m.

While the fire didn't injure anyone or appear to do much damage, it did cause headaches for commuters coming downtown from Upper Manhattan.
Southbound B trains were running express from 81st Street-Museum of Natural History to 59th Street-Columbus Circle. Southbound C trains were running express from 125th Street to Canal Street.
