The 20th Precinct on the Upper West Side is asking eligible people to help Ayden, the son of an NYPD detective who is battling leukemia.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Captain Neil Zuber, the commanding officer of the Upper West Side's 20th Precinct, recently sent out a call to the community asking for people to attend an upcoming stem cell and bone marrow registration event at Lincoln Center to help a four-year-old boy battling leukemia.
Adyen, the four-year-old, is the son of a New York Police Department detective.
The "Be The Match" event will take place on Thursday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Lincoln Center Atrium.

"Ayden is a 4-year-old boy, full of joy and creativity," reads a flier for the event. "This son of an NYPD detective was diagnosed with leukemia, a blood cancer and is in need of a blood stem cell/marrow donation from an unrelated donor, to save his life."
The process to register as a potential stem cell and bone marrow donor is a quick one. First, participants will have to check in on their cell phone and then take two self-performed cheek swabs. The process generally takes less than five minutes.
