Man Shot In Head And Killed In Upper West Side Daytime Shooting: NYPD
Ronald Thomas, 27, was fatally shot near Amsterdam Avenue and West 102nd Street on Sunday, police said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was killed in a daytime shooting Sunday on the Upper West Side, police said.
Ronald Thomas, 27, was shot in the head at 140 W. 102nd St., near Amsterdam Avenue, about 12:15 p.m., police said.
Thomas was pronounced dead in his car at the scene, police said.

The shooter fled the UWS block and there have been no arrests, NYPD added.
Witnesses told the Daily News that Thomas, of Virginia, was having an "intense" argument with a woman outside a building on the street, before the situation escalated and a gunman drove up outside the Frederick Douglass Houses and fired.

Thomas' brother is now in critical condition after going into cardiac arrest upon hearing that his brother had been shot and killed, the Daily News reports.
The shooting happened just one block away from the NYPD's 24th Precinct.
Multiple local elected officials took to social media to comment on the incident, including Council Members Gale Brewer and Shaun Abreu.
"The impact of gun violence reverberates through the community, creating trauma, hurt, and unease." Brewer wrote on Twitter in response to the West 102nd Street shooting. "Turning to a gun to resolve a dispute is never acceptable."
Abreu called the gun violence, "senseless."
"Any life cut short by gun violence is one too many," he added.
The investigation remains ongoing.
