A young man was shot in the torso on the Upper West Side late Sunday night, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was shot in the torso on the Upper West Side late Sunday night, police said.
The shooting took place about 11:30 p.m. near the Frederick Douglass Houses on Columbus Avenue and West 100th Street, NYPD officials said.
A 26-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the torso by officers who responded to a 911 call, officials said.

Medics rushed the young man to a local hospital, where he's said to be in stable condition.
An NYPD spokesperson said there was no suspect description or any other details about the shooting as of Monday morning and added that the investigation remains ongoing.
