Nordstrom To Hire 1,200 Employees For Columbus Circle Flagship
The massive new Nordstrom store near Columbus Circle will open in October.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Retail giant Nordstrom is getting ready to open its massive new flagship store near Columbus Circle and is planning to hire a team of about 1,200 employees to work at the location, the company announced Monday.
Job listings for sales and support staff positions went live on Nordstrom's career's website Monday as the company begins its hiring drive in anticipation of an October opening. Positions up for grabs include sales jobs in departments such as women’s apparel, shoes, beauty and the kid’s department and support jobs such as clothing alterations, building services, housekeeping and food services.
Nordstrom's 320,000-square-foot flagship store will be located on West 57th Street and Broadway. The seven-story store — two floors underground and five above ground — will be the retailer's largest store and largest-ever investment. The location will also be home to six different food and beverage offerings run by professional chefs.

Nordstrom touts a package of "comprehensive benefits for all employees" including competitive pay, a transit subsidy and an in-store discount. The company also said it has a "promote from within" philosophy.

Job seekers can learn more about the positions at hiring events on August 15-17 and August 26-28 at 205 W. 39th St. near Seventh Avenue. The events will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will be held on the building's 15th floor.
