The employee, who did not give his name, said the new location would be opening in the next week or so and there would be promos that went along with its first days in business.
The Marinara location will be replacing Cafe Viva, which shuttered in August 2022 after more than 30 years in the neighborhood.

It was particularly popular for locals looking for kosher, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, which Cafe Viva offered in a wider range than almost any other Upper West Side spot.
Marinara serves up round and square pies, gluten-free cauliflower crust pies, buffalo chicken rolls, cheese calzones, meatballs, mozzarella sticks, salads, wings, pastas, hero sandwiches, garlic knots, and more.
Marinara opened its first Upper West Side location in 2019 and has been popular in the years since.
Marinara's new opening was first reported by ILoveTheUpperWestSide.
Village Square Pizza: 2479 Broadway (near the corner of West 92nd Street)
Village Square Pizza will open its first Upper West Side location in the former home of Perfecto.
The popular pizza spot, which has three other locations in Manhattan, signed the lease on the 2479 Broadway storefront on July 6, according to the real estate publication Traded NY.
The address has set empty since Perfecto shuttered in December 2022, after three decades in the neighborhood.

Perfecto closed at the time because of a massive rent hike, reported ILoveTheUpperWestSide.
Village Square Pizza, as you might guess, is best known for its square slices and its crispy pepperonis.
"Our pizza delivers on all sensory notes of crunchy, crispy, tasty, sweet and savory in every bite," reads a message on its website. "That is why we uphold the highest quality standards from premium ingredients to excellent customer service at ALL times."
Village Square Pizza is routinely included in lists of best New York City slices.
It is unclear when the new pizza spot will open.
