Video Shows Man Leap Out Of NYPD Car After UWS Shooting: Report
One person was hurt in the shooting near West End Avenue and West 63rd Street.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — One person was shot near an Upper West Side public housing building Monday afternoon, leading to a frantic escape attempt where someone taken into custody at the scene jumped out of an open police car window, according to reports.
The shooting occurred near West End Avenue and West 63rd Street around 4 p.m., ABCNY first reported. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, according to the report.
Multiple people were taken into custody near the scene of the shooting, and one attempted to escape, according to video taken by ABCNY reporters. The video shows a handcuffed man leap out of an open police car window head-first and taking a few steps before being tackled by a police officer.

"He's out! Officers!" a bystander can be heard yelling during the video.
As the man in handcuffs struggles with the officer, at one point kicking the officer in the head, he is pounced on by about five other cops, according to the video.
