Holidays and Holiday Shopping This Week
A look at what's going on this week in Wantagh Seaford.

It's a short week for most people, and we have more than one holiday this final week of November.
Here's a look ahead:
Thanksgiving: Thursday is a national holiday which has been celebrated in the U.S. since 1863. Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday as will most government offices.
Hanukkah: It's extremely rare that Thanksgiving and Hanukkah converge at the same time, but they do in 2013. The Jewish Festival of Lights starts Wednesday evening and will continue over eight days.
Black Friday: It's creeping more and more into Thursday, but the yearly shopping extravaganza will be in full force at week's end. Will let you know what you need to know.
Schools: We already told you that schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, but there are also parent-teacher conferences this week. Seaford elementary schools have half days through Wednesday, while Wantagh elementary schools will have a half day on Tuesday before beginning holiday recess on Wednesday.
Movies: THe Seaford Library has a slate of Winnie the Pooh Films on tap Monday at 1:30 p.m.
