Wantagh Artists Take Bronze at Art Olympics
Thirteen students competed in the New York State Art Teachers Association's Olympics of the Visual Arts.

Thirteen of Wantagh High School’s most creative student-artists placed third in the high school graphic design category of the New York State Art Teachers Association’s Olympics of the Visual Arts.
This annual adjudicated event, held at the Saratoga Springs City Center in Sarasota Springs, New York hosted 900 participants representing 37 school districts.
OVA is a program that provides opportunities for students to participate in individual and group artistic problem-solving. More than 50 professional artists, graphic designers, fashion designers, illustrators and visual arts educators judge each category including fashion design, drawing, painting, architecture, illustration, graphic design, sculpture, and photography.

Participants at this year’s OVA competition included Drew Banschback, Jack Hotaling, Gerard Macklin, Kevin Merting, Samantha Olsen, Sadie Pinciotto, Holly Romero, Allie Schadoff, Keriann Steingruebner, Wendy Wasserman, Kevin Weitzman, Lindsay Whiteman, and Olivia Zukowski.
