WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A teenager was shot early Friday morning in Washington Heights, police said.

An 18-year-old was shot in the leg shortly after midnight near 2931 Frederick Douglass Boulevard, within the Polo Grounds NYCHA complex near West 157th Street, police said.

He was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

After firing the bullet, the shooter jumped into a silver Sudan and fled the scene, police said.

It is the second time in the past month that a teenager has been shot at the address.

On June 28, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest and killed at 2971 Frederick Douglass Boulevard, police said.

There have been no arrests in either case and the investigations remain ongoing.
