2 Community Tree Lightings Set For Washington Heights: What To Know

A community organization and a local hospital will both host holiday tree lightings in Washington Heights next week.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A pair of community tree lightings in celebration of the holidays are set for Washington Heights next week.

One will be hosted by a longtime community organization and the other will be headed by a local hospital.

Community League of the Heights Annual Tree Lighting: Broadway and West 157th Street

CLOTH, a community organization that supports a variety of causes in Upper Manhattan, will host its annual tree lighting on Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.

CLOTH offers services in adult education, affordable housing, small business development, and youth education programs.

There will be hot chocolate, music, refreshments, and ornaments. You can also bring your own ornaments to put on the tree.

The tree lighting will take place in the Ilka Tanya Payan Park and all are welcome.

New York Presbyterian Hospital: Broadway and West 170th Street

Upper Manhattan's largest hospital will also host a tree lighting in December.

The ceremony will take place at Duarte Square Park on December 8th at 5 p.m.

New York Presbyterian Hospital hosted its first community tree lighting in 2013.
