WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY - Two firefighters were injured after battling a Washington Heights apartment fire early Tuesday, authorities said.

The blaze on the sixth floor of 44 Bennett Ave. near West 184 St. was first reported about 5:48 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

25 units, including 106 fire and medical personnel, responded to the two-alarm fire at the 66-unit prewar building, fire officials said.

The fire was deemed under control about 7:22 a.m., fire officials said. Two firefighters were treated at Columbia Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
