Man Clinging To Life After Machete Stabbing In NYC, Police Say

INWOOD, NY — Police are investigating after two men were rushed to the hospital with stab wounds, with one in critical condition, overnight in Inwood, New York City Police Department officials said Monday.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting outside a bodega at 144 Nagle Ave., on the corner of Thayer Street at 11:41 p.m. Sunday.

When police arrived, they discovered it to be a stabbing with a machete, and found a 60-year-old man with a stab wound to his neck and a 40-year-old man with stab wounds to his arm and abdomen, officials said.

Both were rushed to NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem, where the 60-year-old is in critical condition, police said. The 40-year-old is in stable condition, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident, and said the stabbing started as a verbal argument.
