A duo punched a 72-year-old man multiple times in the face near Broadway and West 172nd Street, police said on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two women attacked and robbed an elderly man in Washington Heights, police said on Tuesday.

A 72-year-old man was walking near Broadway and West 172nd Street about 4:50 p.m. on June 23, when he was approached by two women, police said.

One of the women punched him multiple times in the face, while the other attacker forcibly removed an unspecified currency from his pocket, police said.

The duo then fled eastbound on West 172nd Street, police said.

The man was treated at the scene by medics for minor injuries, police added

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
