5 Injured In Overnight Washington Heights Fire: FDNY

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire burned through a Washington Heights building over the weekend, injuring five people, according to the FDNY.

The flames began Sunday about 3:15 a.m. at a 12-unit residence on 190th Street between Wadsworth and St. Nicholas avenues, according to the FDNY.

Five people had minor injuries after the blaze — including one firefighter — which burned for just under an hour, authorities said.

Some 60 first responders worked to control the fire by 4 a.m., authorities said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday, according to the FDNY.
