88-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Midnight Fire: NYPD

Emergency responders took the victim to Columbia University Irving Medical Center, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — An 88-year-old woman was rushed to the emergency room in critical condition after a fire broke out in her apartment building in Washington Heights on Tuesday, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the fire started at 41 Bennett Ave., a six-story building near the corner of West 184th Street, at 12:18 a.m.

Emergency responders took the victim to Columbia University Irving Medical Center, police said.
