Arrest Made In Deadly Inwood Stabbing: Police
An Inwood resident was charged with murder Wednesday after a fatal slashing took place in a building on Arden Street, police said.

INWOOD, NY — An uptown man was charged with murder after a person was fatally stabbed in an Inwood building, police said on Wednesday.
Inwood resident Ismail Hosameldin, 34, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to a stabbing that took place in a neighborhood building on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police responded to call of a fight involving a knife about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday within a building on Arden Street, near Nagle Avenue, NYPD said.

Officers found Maximito Polanco, 55, slashed in the neck, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police added.
Two people of interest were taken in for questioning at the time, which led to the announcement of one arrest on Wednesday, police said.

Hosameldin, along with the other unknown suspect who was brought in originally for questioning, were known to Polanco before his death, the Daily News reported.
