On Tuesday afternoon, October 10, 2023, Beth Abraham Center on Allerton Avenue and Bronx Park East held a Bronx community event to recognize World Mental Health Day, along with a nursing job fair, and many people from the Allerton East Bronx neighborhood dropped by outside of the 448-bed skilled nursing facility to pick-up materials and speak to Beth Abraham Center human resource personnel about getting their nursing license. It was also an event that educated people about the many types of Mental Health issues in all age ranges, especially with young people affected by the aftermath following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Events like this are very special because they, one, offer the community an education and what to look for regarding the various types of ongoing psychological issues after the Covid-19 pandemic and, two, they offer nursing job opportunities here at Beth Abraham Center, from CNAs, LPNs, RNs and more,” said Elliot J. Kahan, Chief Marketing Officer, Beth Abraham Center. “In addition to the nursing opportunities here, World Mental Health Day is an awareness day that affects people everywhere. Residents at Beth Abraham Center may not have mental illness but the facility can refer people to the right places to seek help.”

New York hip-hop and R&B radio station Power 105.1 FM, a iHeart radio station, were the key sponsors of the event that also included Mr. Softee ice cream as well as hot dogs and soda for the community.
