COVID Vaccination Rate In Upper Manhattan: End Of Summer Update

Roughly 62 percent of Wash Heights and Inwood residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to city data.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — The number of Washington Heights and Inwood residents who have received at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine is notably below the average rate seen in Manhattan, and a touch lower the citywide average.

62.47 percent of Washington Heights and Inwood residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 56.23 percent of locals are fully vaccinated, according to data from the city.

That compares to a citywide one dose vaccination rate of 66 percent and a Manhattan average rate of 77 percent.

The vaccination rate in Upper Manhattan predictably jumps when looking only at the adult population. The first dose rate for Washington Height and Inwood adults is 71.83 percent and 65 percent are fully vaccinated.

10040: Washington Heights/Fort George

  • All Residents: 63.01 percent have gotten one dose, 56.75 percent fully vaccinated
  • Adults: 72.58 percent have gotten one dose, 65.91 percent fully vaccinated

10033: Washington Heights (South)

  • All Residents: 61.87 percent have gotten one dose, 55.98 percent fully vaccinated
  • Adults: 71.01 percent have gotten one dose, 64.76 percent fully vaccinated

10032: Washington Heights (North)

  • All Residents: 64.62 percent have gotten one dose, 57.93 percent fully vaccinated
  • Adults: 73.94 percent have gotten one dose, 66.78 percent fully vaccinated

Overall, the 10032 ZIP code has the highest rates of vaccination in Upper Manhattan. On the other hand, Inwood's 10034 ZIP code has the lowest of the four uptown areas.
