In the process of writing my book, Grants Made Easy, I learned that using food pantries is a great way to reduce grocery bills. My son and I planned to do some house sitting for a family member in Connecticut. A few days before we arrived, I went online and pulled up the site freepantries.org.
I did a search for Danbury, Connecticut and that’s when I found the Daily Bread Food Pantry.
From the moment I sent an email through the contact form on their website to the day we picked up our food, the experience was easy and delightful. I was made to feel like family and welcomed with open arms. I love the Daily Bread Food Pantry and wanted to spread the joy so you can benefit from their service: https://www.dailybreadfoodpantry.com/visiting-the-pantry-new
Founded in 1984, The Daily Bread Food Pantry exploded its reach during Covid. With the majority of local pantries shutting down, The Daily Bread Food Pantry remained open and moved its distribution operation outdoors to serve their patrons.
Current President, Peter Kent arrived at Daily Bread around 2019, about a year after retiring from corporate law. Peter is passionate about helping feed his beloved town of Danbury.

Peter says “it doesn’t take much for a family to get pushed over the edge. Medical bills, lay offs and car issues can really put a big strain on a family’s ability to afford food.”
Daily Bread Food Pantry is a well-oiled engine that helps families in the Danbury area fill in the gaps to ease their food budget.

Just to give you an idea of the quality of their food, today’s special was lamb shanks and pulled pork. The lamb is packaged nicely. It’s actually already cooked, sous-vide, in a mint and tarragon sauce.
The pork is also pre-cooked, seasoned and packaged.
Daily Bread Food Pantry has enough food so don’t worry about having to stand on line. If you arrive more than 15 minutes before opening time, you will be asked to leave and return later.
