Dirt Bikers Shoot Motorist In Head On Wash Heights-Bronx Bridge
A man was driving between the Heights and The Bronx when he was surrounded by bikers, shot, and dragged from his car, police said.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Dirt bike riders surrounded a 45-year-old driver on a bridge early Wednesday and shot him in the head multiple times, dragged him out of his car and left him on the road as they drove off with his vehicle, according to police.
The attack happened at 12:10 a.m. between Washington Heights and the Bronx, near the Hamilton Bridge and the Major Deegan Expressway, according to police. However, the Daily News and ABC7 are reporting that the carjacking took place on the Washington Bridge, which is just a few blocks away from the Hamilton Bridge.
Both bridges connect the Bronx to Washington Heights.

The man was driving a 2020 Hyundai when two of the individuals on blue dirt bikes displayed a gun and demanded the 45-year-old give them the car, according to police. The attackers then shot the man at least four times in the head, according to the Daily News.
Despite the multiple gunshot wounds, the 45-year-old incredibly survived the attack and was taken to Lincoln Hospital in serious but stable condition, according to police.

The attackers fled in the stolen car toward Inwood, a police spokesperson told Patch. The car was eventually found, though, abandoned nearby on the Cross Bronx Expressway, according to ABC7.
It is unclear at the time why the group of dirt bike riders surrounded and attacked the driver. Police are looking for the attackers, and there is not yet a description for the suspects.
