Driver Crashes Into Subway Stairs In Washington Heights: NYPD

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A driver jumped the curb and slammed into a subway entrance in Washington Heights, cops said Friday.

The 25-year-old driver crashed into the stairs for the 1 Train station on 157th Street and Broadway Friday about 9:15 a.m., according to the NYPD and Daily News.

The driver had hopped the curb and continued driving down the sidewalk, and ended up jammed in the staircase, making it down about half a dozen steps, according to the Daily News.

Police said there were no injuries, and the driver was taken into custody on the scene.
