Free-Birdwatching Tour In Uptown's Highbridge Park: What To Know
Fort Tryon Park Trust has organized a birdwatching tour in Highbridge Park on Saturday.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — For those who might be looking for a different type of activity on the long Memorial Day weekend, a free birdwatching tour is set for Highbridge Park on Saturday.
Naturalist Ken Chaya is leading a birdwatching tour that will kick off at the Dyckman Street and 10th Avenue entrance to Highbridge Park at 10 a.m.
It will then make its way south through the uptown park.

"Explore the northern forests of Highbridge Park," reads an explanation of the activity on its events page. "Naturalist Ken Chaya leads a birdwatching tour, teaching you to identify birds based on calls, appearance, and behavior."

The walking tour is organized by the Fort Tryon Park Trust.
Chaya is an artist who also works as an instructor in the Urban Naturalist Program at the New York Botanical Garden.
He is also an avid Central Park birder.
