Geraldo Rivera's Son Arrested For Assaulting Ex: Reports Say
Cruz Rivera, 30, allegedly choked and bit his ex-girlfriend when she visited his Washington Heights apartment.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY ā The son of Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera is facing charges for assaulting his ex-girlfriend in his Washington Heights apartment, according to multiple reports.
Cruz Rivera, 30, was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, aggravated harassment, attempted assault and harassment for attacking ex-girlfriend Meghan Burke, the Daily News first reported.
Burke stopped by Rivera's Washington Heights home to retrieve some of her belongings when Rivera threw her onto his bead, began to choke her and bit her on the hands and leg while she struggled, police sources told the Daily News.

Neighborhs told the Daily News they heard rumbling and a woman yelling "stop" from Rivera's apartment on the night of the alleged attack.
Arthur Aidala, a lawyer serving as Rivera's defense attorney, told the New York Post that Geraldo Rivera, 74, is "very upset" about his son's arrest.

"I know Geraldo is very, very upset about this," Aidala told the Post. "Obviously, the fact that his father reached out to me shows he is supporting his son, but he is quite troubled by the accusations of domestic violence, because nobody takes domestic violence lightly."
