Gun Ambush In Wash Heights Leaves 1 Person In Hospital: Video

Two gunmen shot a man leaving a known gambling den with money in Washington Heights, the Daily News reported.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A 25-year-old man was walking out of a building near 2334 Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights on Friday when two men jumped out of a car and fired multiple gunshots at the man, police announced over the weekend.

The man was hit twice, once in the left shoulder and a second time in the left thigh, but was able to escape the ambush and take himself to an uptown hospital in stable condition, police added.

The Daily News reported that the 25-year-old was leaving a known gambling spot on Amsterdam Avenue near West 176th Street with money in his hand when the gunmen hopped out of the black Tahoe just before 7 a.m. on Friday.

Police released a video over the weekend of the incident, which shows two hooded men chasing the 25-year-old with guns drawn.

The two gunmen have not been caught, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
