Huge Wasp Nest Makes A Home In Inwood Tree
There is a large wasp nest at West 207th Street and Seaman Avenue in Inwood. One uptown resident asked if anyone was keeping them as pets.

INWOOD, NY — A massive wasp nest is attached to the top of a tree on an Inwood street corner.
Uptown resident Dahlia Noir posted a photo of the nest at West 207th Street and Seaman Avenue to a Washington Heights and Inwood community Facebook group.
"Are ya'll keeping these wasps as pets?" she wrote jokingly.

The photo inspired multiple people to mention that this wasn't the only wasp nest in Upper Manhattan.
One person said it was the fourth wasp nest they had seen uptown in the last six months, while another community member said there was another nest attached to a local dog run.

In a little peace of mind for uptown residents worried about getting stung, wasps generally can't survive the winters and leave behind empty nests that are easy to take down.
The city still recommends contacting a licensed pest control operator to remove any wasp nests.
