$15K In A Fanny Pack Stolen From Inwood Nail Salon Worker: NYPD

An Inwood nail salon worker was robbed by a man who pretended to be an Amazon Delivery worker then pulled out a gun, police said.

INWOOD, NY — A fanny pack with $15,000 cash inside it was stolen from an Inwood nail salon worker Tuesday night by an armed robber who pretended he worked for Amazon, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The man sported an Amazon Prime Delivery vest when he on the door of Any Spa 207 on West 207th Street between Broadway and Vermilyea Avenue about 8:20 p.m., police said.

The man said he had a package, but the 41-year-old woman working within the salon didn't open the door since they were already closed, police said.

The man then pulled out a gun, forced his way through the locked door and sent the employee running into a back room of the salon, police said.

The man made chase, demanded cash and snatched the fanny pack around her waist, police said.

It ended up being a valuable fanny pack as it contained around $15,000 in cash and multiple credit cards, police said.

The man then fled the store, jumped into a black Sedan outside, and drove west on 207th Street, police said.

The woman was not injured, police said.

NYPD did not provide a description of the suspect.
