Japanese Noodle Shop In Washington Heights Opening 2nd Location
The already well-liked Tampopo Ramen is opening a second eatery this fall in the Heights that will focus on udon noodles and sushi.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Uptown noodle lovers rejoice. Tampopo Ramen, which opened in Washington Heights in 2016, is opening a second eatery this fall in Washington Heights that will focus on craft house-made udon noodles and sushi.
Harlem + Bespoke was the first publication to report on the new Japanese restaurant location, which Tampopo Ramen announced on its social media pages over the weekend.
The current Tampopo Ramen is located at 1 Bennet Avenue, between West 181st and 182nd Streets, and the second location will be at 805 West 187th Street, according to Harlem + Bespoke.

"Big news for Washington Heights and for noodle fans," Tampopo Ramen owners wrote on Facebook. "We are launching a new concept on 187th and fort Washington Ave, that will focus on craft house-made udon noodles and sushi! We can’t wait to share our new recipes with you, so be sure to follow our @tampopokitchennyc account so you can be first in line for our soft launch and any opening promotions we will be running. We plan to open fall 2021, we don’t have a date yet, but we are getting close!"
Husband and wife team Josh Frank and Nanae Mameuda-Frank own the restaurant and live in Washington Heights with their daughter.

In recent years, there has been a jump in noodle and ramen shops opening in Washington Heights, including the Singaporean restaurant Native Noodles at 2129 Amsterdam Avenue — which has received major praise over the past 12 months.
