Learn How To Belly Dance In NYC Parks Sponsored Wash Heights Event
A belly dancing class will take place Saturday in the Highbridge Recreation Center within the Washington Heights park.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Ever want to learn how to bellydance? Well, here's your chance, as a class on exactly that will take place this weekend in Washington Heights.
A bellydance workout and class will happen on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Highbridge Park's Recreation Center near West 173rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
"In a SharQui class, you’ll learn new moves and combinations in flow," reads a description on the Park's Department website. "You’ll gradually build up to more complex movements starting with the very basics! If you can walk in place, you can belly dance with SharQui."

The class is taught to music with easy-to-follow steps that will be get your heart rate up.
The class will take place within the dance room at the Highbridge Recreation Center, and is free to attend.
