Man, 77, Injured By Robber On Bike In Manhattan, Police Say

The 77-year-old victim was walking in Fort George when a man on a bicycle grabbed his cell phone.

FORT GEORGE, NY — Police were looking Wednesday for suspects after a 77-year-old man was robbed in Fort George, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was walking in front of 360 Dyckman St. on Saturday at 7:40 p.m. when a man on a bicycle forcibly removed the man's cell phone from his hand.

The two struggled over the phone, and the victim fell to the ground, at which point, the perpetrator ran away on foot, heading downtown, with the phone, police said.

The victim was injured from the fall and was treated on the scene by medics, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident and have released a surveillance photo of the suspect. No arrests have been made yet, police said.
