Man Arrested For 2 Gunpoint Robberies In Washington Heights: Police

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was arrested at the end of the year for two gunpoint robberies in Washington Heights, police said on Wednesday.
Tyrell Paschal, 24, was arrested in connection to two gunpoint robberies that took place in broad daylight within two hours of each other on Nov. 27, police said.
He has been charged with robbery, police said.

The first robbery unfolded on Riverside Drive and West 157th Street about 2 p.m. when a 64-year-old man suddenly found himself facing a man who flashed a gun, police said.
The man handed over his wallet and the robber fled into the West 157th Street and Broadway station, police said.

Around an hour and a half later, he struck again, police said.
A 27-year-old woman walking near West 180th Street and Fort Washington Avenue became the robber's second victim about 3:40 p.m., police said.
The man again flashed a gun then grabbed her designer purse, worth about $1,400, and ran into the West 175th Street and Broadway train station, police said.
