Man Beaten Inside Inwood McDonald’s, NYPD Investigating As Hate Crime
The brawl emerged as the result of the victim refusing to give the attacker money, police said.

INWOOD, NY - A man was brutally beaten at an Inwood McDonald’s location earlier this month after he reportedly refused to give money to a man, authorities said.
The 22-year-old victim was at a McDonald's restaurant at 208 Dyckman St. on Dec. 6 when he was approached by the man who demanded money about 5:16 p.m., police said. When the victim refused, the man dragged the victim by the hair and punched him in the face and mouth, causing minor injuries to his face.
The attacker also spewed “derogatory terms” to the victim, though a police spokesperson told Patch the terms were not derogatory toward a race, religion or sexual orientation.
