Man Fatally Shot Near Inwood Subway Station: Police

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, officials confirmed.

INWOOD, NY – A 32-year-old man was shot and killed near 3849 10th Avenue in Inwood on Monday morning, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The victim, with gunshot wounds to his face and his chest, was pronounced dead on arrival at Harlem Hospital, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m., according to police.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The address is only steps away from the 207th Street 1 train station.

In August, a man was hospitalized after a shooting nearby at 3950 10th Avenue.

A shooting in June on Father’s Day, at 207th Street and 10th Avenue, left two dead and one injured. One of those killed in the June shooting, Alejandro Ramirez, was a neighborhood fixture who had reportedly been a familiar presence in Inwood for decades.

UPDATE: Police have identified the 32-year-old victim as Wilmer Rosario of the Bronx.
