INWOOD, NY — Two years after a slew of sexual attacks in Inwood Hill Park, the attacker was sentenced to 20 years in state prison, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

After his release, Elvis Nina Pichardo, 43, will also serve 20 years of post-release supervision after he pleaded guilty to a string of attacks carried out within one hour at the park, prosecutors said.

“Elvis Nina Pichardo terrified our community when he attacked three different people enjoying a warm summer day in Inwood Hill Park in the span of less than one hour,” Manhattan District Attorney Bragg said in a statement.

The violence started when the Bronx man grabbed a 34-year-old woman in the park on July 21, 2021 about 11:10 a.m., prosecutors contend. He hit her, threatened to rape her, and took her phone when she tried to call the cops, according to the district attorney's office.

Just 20 minutes later Nina Picardo found a new target, a 40-year-old man with two dogs.

He again made sexual comments and chased the 40-year-old with a stick before finding his third victim — a 44-year-old woman whose head Nina Picardo slammed into concrete, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said Nina Picardo robbed and attempted to rape the woman, who was later found by a bystander who called 911.

“As the sentence today makes clear, this type of repugnant conduct will not be tolerated," Bragg said.
