Man Riding Scooter Uptown Killed After Crashing Into Car: NYPD
The scooter rider hit the back of a car, before going crashing into a parked vehicle on the Upper Manhattan street, police said.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — A man riding a scooter in Upper Manhattan was killed after striking the back of a car, before crashing into a parked vehicle, police said on Tuesday.
A 32-year-old was riding a Jiajue motorized scooter about 10:15 p.m. at 2987 Frederick Douglass Ave., near West 156th Street along the Harlem River Drive, when he struck the back of a car that was making a left-hand turn onto Frederick Douglass Boulevard from the westbound Harlem River Drive, police said.

The collision caused the scooter driver to go crashing into a parked car, which then sent him flying from his seat and onto the cement, police said.
The man was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

It was originally believed that the driver of the car making the left-hand turn did not remain on the scene, but he did, police said in an updated statement.
The investigation is ongoing.
