Man Scrawls 'Dogs--t' On Uptown Church Doors, Police Say
The vandal used a black marker to scrawl the profanity of the doors of the Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Washington Heights.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of scrawling profanities and drawing lewd images on the doors of a Washington Heights church, police said.
The man took a black market to the doors of the Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church on Wadsworth Avenue during the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 23, police said. The vandalism mostly consisted of writing the word "dogs--t" multiple times on the doors as well as drawing the image of a penis, police said.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s who stands about 5-foot-8 and has a full beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans, white sweatshirt and black sneakers, police said.
