Man Shot In Chest In Washington Heights Monday Night, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A 40-year-old man was shot in the chest on Monday night in Washington Heights, New York City Police Department officials told Patch.

According to the NYPD, the man was out walking near 192nd Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue at 11:50 p.m. when he heard several gunshots and started running home.

When he got home, he realized he was shot in the chest and called 911, police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
