Man Shot Dead During Argument Outside Uptown Bodega, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot and killed outside of a Washington Heights bodega during an argument, police said.

Officers arrived at a bodega on the corner of St. Nicholas Avenue and West 186th Street just after Midnight saturday to find a 22-year-old suffering a gunshot wound to the hip, police said. EMS transported the man to Columbia University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police said gunfire broke out in front of the bodega during an argument between the victim and another man. The motive for the argument is under investigation.

No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide and no suspects have been identified, police said.
