Man Shot Dead On Upper Manhattan NYCHA Campus, Police Say

A 46-year-old Bronx man was found dead in front of an Upper Manhattan public housing building on Friday, police said. No arrests were made.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot and killed on an Upper Manhattan public housing campus on Friday, according to police.

Brenston Ayers, a 46-year-old Bronx resident, was found lying in front of a building at the NYCHA Polo Grounds Houses just before midnight on Friday, police said.

Ayers had been shot in the torso and leg, said police.

Ayers was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The city's medical examiner will determine his cause of death, police said.

No arrests have been announced, and police have not named any suspects in the homicide.
